Man 'had 36,000 porn pictures'
A 53-year-old man today admitted a string of child pornography offences after police claimed more than 36,000 images were found in his possession.
Timothy Lovegrove admitted ten offences relating to indecent images and videos of children during a hearing at Oxford Crown Court.
Lovegrove, formerly of Mill Close, Deddington, admitted incitement to distribute indecent pictures of children, five counts of making indecent photographs of children and four of possessing indecent photographs of children.
He denied a further charge of incitement to cause child pornography, which was ordered to lie on file. Peter Coombe, prosecuting, said police had found 36,084 images in Lovegrove's possession and believed all of them were indecent.
But Nigel Daly, defending, said although Lovegrove admitted the charges, he disputed the number of images police and prosecutors said he had - claiming they were not all indecent.
Judge Patrick Eccles adjourned sentencing until Friday, September 5, and gave Lovegrove, now of Market Place, Banbury, unconditional bail and ordered him to sign the sex offenders' register.
